Upon deciding to acquire and operate this printing business, we recognized an opportunity to combine real-world production with experiential learning opportunity for young people in our community. The T Shirt Entity works with North Minneapolis youth providing hands-on workforce development and entrepreneurship experiences centered on apparel design, printing, and small business fundamentals.

Youth are designing products, participating in production workflows, collaborating as a team, and seeing how ideas move from concept to sale, not as a get-rich-quick program, but as a way to gain practical skills our youth can take into the real world. These skills can be used toward building out focused education pathways or to apply toward growing their own small or e-commerce-based businesses. Participation in our youth program will also help to develop confidence, communication skills, problem-solving ability, time management, and accountability.

By being located in North Minneapolis, owned and led by someone from the community, and housed inside a building focused on strengthening local assets, the T Shirt Entity aims to help build the kind of ecosystem we talk about but rarely see fully realized. We want young people to imagine new possibilities for themselves and understand that creativity, curiosity, and effort can translate into real opportunity and long-term pathways they may not otherwise encounter.
